Mt. Lebanon Recreation Center Master Plan
Next Generation Community Recreation
DRAW Collective provided Architectural Services for the Municipality of Mt. Lebanon’s Parks Master Plan and Recreation Center project, working in conjunction with Pashek + MTR. Pashek led the Master Plan process to develop recommendations that address the current and future recreation and park needs of the Municipality’s residents. As part of this effort, DRAW led the evaluation and planning for the Recreation Center’s renovation and expansion.
DRAW assessed the existing Recreation Center and developed recommendations to improve its functionality and accessibility while transforming it into a more inviting community destination. In response to residents’ requests for expanded wellness and programming opportunities, the team proposed a new recreation building. The proposed facility includes a multipurpose gym, flexible community programming spaces, strength and cardio rooms, group exercise studios, locker rooms, restrooms, storage areas, and staff offices.
In addition, the team evaluated the park’s existing amenities, including the Tennis Center, platform tennis courts, athletic fields, batting cages, pavilions, bocce courts, outdoor pool, basketball courts, sand volleyball court, playgrounds, passive recreation areas, and the Recreation Center Complex. Based on this analysis, the team developed recommendations to enhance and expand the overall recreation experience. These improvements also prioritize stronger active transportation connections and increased park sustainability.
