Registered Architect 2/Project Manager

We’re seeking a dedicated Registered Architect 2/Project Manager to join the team to promote and shape the future of architecture in the Pittsburgh region. The ideal candidate will possess 6-8 years of experience in empathetic design in a collaborative environment, plus experience in managing projects that delight our clients while inspiring our team to grow and develop.

Working with us:
A Registered Architect 2/Project Manager is responsible for:

  • Leading and participating in project teams that accomplish project design, finished drawings, and specifications
  • Serving as the primary drawing/technical support on small to medium sized projects and as part of a team on larger projects
  • Applying sound and diverse knowledge of architectural methods
  • Problem-solving within individual field/market with supervision and guidance related to overall objectives, critical issues, and new concepts
  • Contributing current and up-to-date technical drawing/detailing skills
  • Maintaining project related organization/communication systems, and embracing firm standards
  • Responsibilities for Project Management may include:
  • Developing project fees, scope, proposals, and contracts while actively managing project budgets on various-sized projects
  • Serving as client liaison by communicating regularly, preparing documentation, making presentations in collaboration with firm leadership
  • Actively coaching members of the project team, providing timely feedback to support our culture that embodies learning and collaboration, as 2 of our core values
  • Challenging staff to explore the creative resolution of problems that enhance professional development, while embracing industry standards

An ideal candidate has:

Bachelor’s degree in architecture, typically 6-8+ years of relevant experience with Registered Architect or NCARB designation required.

Project Management experience such as developing project fees, scope, budget. Interface with clients, prepare documentation for productive work sessions, develop and deliver presentations

Mentoring: being invested in the professional development of staff; coaching team members and demonstrating a growth mindset in a positive and supportive environment

Software experience to include: REVIT and Bluebeam experience, and proficiency with MS Office.

Organizational skills: project schedules, time management, follow-through.

Communication skills: well-developed communication skills to build relationships, influence, lead and project credibility with a wide variety of internal and external clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors

Ability to travel to construction and client sites (valid driver’s license, reliable transportation)

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

Ability to lift and carry 30 pounds, ability to pack/unpack and set up materials

Able and available for local travel to construction and client sites in the region; following all PPE requirements and adhering to OSHA requirements

Ability to work in an office (Monday-Thursday) and an option for virtual work (Friday), sitting for long periods of time doing computer work
