What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I love going to Kennywood with my family – we are all season passholders! I ride everything, so when my nieces and nephews want to ride something no one else will ride, I get to be super fun Aunt B.
I love most summer activities – I like to swim, ride my bike, take walks, and garden. I love the beach and visiting state / national parks.
I am a big decorator for the seasons and holidays, especially during the fall and Christmas. I would love to host the holidays, but alas, my house is usually too small for everyone
What are your most impactful projects at DRAW?:
Blackhawk Highland Middle School: This was my first project at DRAW, and I was a new, young designer. It was my first time doing construction administration on a project, and I learned so much that I continue to reference and apply to this day.
WVU Medicine 2nd Floor Nursing Unit: This was one of my earlier healthcare projects when I started getting into using the FGI guidelines and understanding the different approval processes for state health departments. This project showed me the needs of the care delivery team and how our design impacts each patient. Working in inpatient areas continues to be my favorite type of project.
Independence Health System Clarion Health & Wellness Center: This was such a fun project with a great team. The system wanted to advance its care delivery to an underserved community and to provide a multitude of health services in one convenient location.
What keeps you coming back to work everday?
The people. I truly like everyone I work with, and we can do hard things while still making it enjoyable. I love learning, and at DRAW, we are always advancing our knowledge and learning new things.
What is your dream destination?
There are still so many places I haven’t been that I want to see! I had a trip to Hawaii scheduled for 2020 that was never rescheduled, so I’ll say Hawaii.
