New Tennis Courts at Mars Area High School

New Athletic Facility

Mars Area School District has invested in the improvement of its athletic facilities with the construction of five new tennis courts at Mars Area High School. The project includes the installation of a multi-court complex designed to support both physical education programs and interscholastic athletics.

The District hired DRAW Collective and H.F. Lenz Company to investigate two options for the school’s new tennis courts: one option with four courts and another option with five courts, with the options to include or exclude site lighting. These options explored environmental impacts as well as costs of construction.  The selected solution is the five court layout without lighting. Provisions have been included to allow the District to add lighting in the future.

The new NTSA compliant courts feature durable, all-weather playing surfaces with District branding, updated striping, nets, and fencing to promote long-lasting performance and safety. Dedicated spectator seating areas will provide opportunities for both practice and competitive play, while also improving the spectator experience.

These upgrades align with the District’s commitment to supporting student wellness, extracurricular engagement, and community use of facilities. The courts serve as a valuable resource for tennis teams, gym classes, and recreational use. The courts help foster school spirit and offer a safe, modern venue for student-athletes to train and compete.
