Surgery Suite Expansion, Monongahela Valley Hospital

Surgery Suite Expansion

Monongahela Valley Hospital

There is a long list of complexities in the design and project management for an expansion of surgery facilities. Experienced leadership and a total team effort that includes a Hospital’s staff and administration created a smooth path for this project’s design and construction.

An addition of four new Operating Rooms was designed for Monongahela Valley Hospital along with the renovation of the existing Surgery Suite to integrate the new ORs and expand the department’s PACU and storage facilities.

State-of-the-art technology, properly sized ORs, the anticipation of future surgical equipment and procedural advancements, and an overall improvement to the flow of patients through the department were critical elements resolved in the design. Ceiling mounted booms deliver medical gases and power, as well as provide patient and video monitors. The addition was constructed adjacent to active operating rooms in a manner that was carefully coordinated with the Hospital and its ongoing schedule of surgeries.
