Outpatient Surgery Center, WVU Medicine

The Outpatient Surgery Center designed for WVU Medicine’s Berkeley Medical Center  places an emphasis on efficiency and patient comfort. The organization of the Center creates an efficient flow for patients from pre-op, one of the four procedure rooms, to post-op recovery and discharge.

Glass panels enclose the central nurse station and enhance privacy while promoting visibility between patients and the care team. A skylight above the nurse station provides daylight into the core patient care area.

A comfortable waiting room, with a coffee/vending space is included for family members who accompany patients.
