The VA Erie Medical Center sought a new outpatient Oncology Center to serve the veterans in northwestern Pennsylvania. The new space was planned for a recently vacated 2,000 SF space on the third floor of the Medical Center.
DRAW provided the architectural design that included nine infusion cubicles, an exam room, office/telehealth space, and support spaces. DRAW worked closely with the clinical team and contractor to meet VA Design Standards and respond to users’ needs.
Together, the team carefully created an open environment fostering patient camaraderie while still enabling privacy, if desired, during infusion therapy.
The full team effort by DRAW and Glancy resulted in an extremely functional and beautiful environment to administer cancer treatment to veterans. The project was completed on budget and more than 90 days ahead of schedule.
