Nursing Unit Renovation, Allegheny Valley Hospital

Nursing Unit Renovation

Allegheny Valley Hospital

The renovation of multiple nursing units at Allegheny Valley Hospital provides a dramatic improvement for the patient rooms, corridors, and nurse stations. Five nursing units were designed with varying degrees of improvement.

The 3D / Orthopedics Unit that is pictured was a complete demolition and redesign of an existing med/surg nursing unit that accounted for the proper size and program requirements specific to patients that are recovering from orthopedic surgeries.

In addition to the program, the Hospital standard for a neutral color palette was used and brighter colors were introduced through artwork, cubicle curtains, and miscellaneous decor that can be changed from time to time.
