DRAW Collective is currently overseeing the construction of a new Intermediate School for the growing Trinity Area School District. The new building will serve grades 4 and 5 on the Trinity Middle School site in Washington, PA.
Each of the new Intermediate School’s three levels will feature a centralized Innovation Project Classroom to support the STREAM elements of the curriculum. The school design integrates both classrooms and adjacent support places ideal for teamwork, pull-out instruction, and small group learning. The overall planning seeks to strengthen the relationships between individual classroom instruction and flexible learning spaces.
The heart of the new building will be the learning areas clustered around an open stair connecting all levels. A few areas of excitement include a STREAM Laboratory, Advanced Learning Classrooms, and a Media Center that features a second story outdoor learning patio. A two-story Large Group Instruction space on the second floor offers flexibility as a multi-purpose assembly area for arts and music programming. The new Intermediate School’s educational programming advancements offer the students a tailored learning transition between the Primary and Middle School grades.
