Hillel Academy New Girls High School

Collaborating in Faith & Education

Designed as more than a school, the Hillel Academy’s new Girls High School incorporates collaborative, safe, and welcoming environments that support worship, learning, and socialization. It is a sanctuary for the students, staff, and community.

The new high school project included two significant additions to the existing Beacon Street building and renovations throughout the building. All work was completed in phases and sequenced to allow safe, continued use of the existing building.

The first addition, built on top of an existing one-story footprint, features an open collaboration space with four classrooms, each adorned with finishes that stimulate young minds and encourage creativity.

The front addition to the building required demolishing the front entry of the building to allow for a new, large STEM classroom, illuminated by an abundance of bright, natural light. Within the STEM space, students have access to a creative and open space that promotes a positive educational experience, and the new faƧade features shading panels to help regulate the classroom temperatures while allowing for natural lighting. A new secure entrance was created as part of the addition with a dedicated school security office and sign-in area for students, staff and families. Off the entrance, is a new shul decorated with intentional finishes and furniture to promote flexibility and encompass students in the Jewish faith. The shul serves as a space for praying, studying and gathering for school and local community use.

The new school allowed the Academy to invest in their students and provide 21st Century learning environments.
