The design for Independence Health System’s Medical Office Building in Clarion evolved to meet the program goals of the System. A variety of patient services were contemplated and ‘test fit’, resulting in the conversion of the existing institutional building into a 25,000 SF Medical Office Building that serves as a comprehensive outpatient destination supporting nearby Clarion Hospital.
The 3-story outpatient center designed by DRAW was delivered on a fast-track schedule and provides
multi-specialty practices, lab/imaging diagnostics and physical therapy services in a community health and wellness center.
DRAW’s design for the project included a hospital-based diagnostic suite with lab services, X-ray, Mammography, DXA, echocardiogram, and ultrasound rooms, as well as a hospital-based outpatient physical therapy, all designed in compliance with the 2018 edition of Guidelines for Design and Construction of Outpatient Facilities.
The program also included a family medicine physician practice with 12 exam rooms serving the Hospital’s residency program, and women’s health and cardiology practices to provide convenient access to comprehensive care.
The exam/treatment rooms were designed to adapt to the various medical specialties that share the building in order to maintain flexibility.
