Hillview recognized, HS renovations move forward

GROVE CITY — One building in the Grove City Area School District will undergo some renovations while another building has been recognized with a design honor for a completed construction project.

School board members on Monday night agreed to move forward with renovations for the high school that include a new roof and updates to the HVAC and mechanical systems.

The designs are being done by Draw Collective, a Pittsburgh firm that recently won a a Design Pittsburgh award for its work on the Hillview Elementary School renovation.

The firm received the People’s Choice Award from the Pittsburgh chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

Design Pittsburgh celebrates “excellence in architecture and design, and honoring those who create it.” Draw Collective received 600 votes out of 3,893 for the award.

Hillview houses students in kindergarten through fifth grade, and the project, which was completed in 2020, features more STEAM resources, new classrooms, gym and library, multi-functional spaces and more.
